Ever thought of what would planting one crore saplings would be like? Here’s a team of 20 young students from different colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujrat who started Pudami Talli (Telegu for Mother Earth) with the aim of planting one crore saplings. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
Their Instagram bio says,
“To be without trees would, in the most literal way, to be without our roots.”― Richard. Plant a sapling, be a reason to grow trees and humanity.”
Their main medium to raise awareness and create impact is their social media channels. What just started as an idea has now taken full form. They’ve planted saplings majorly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and constantly share all the inspiring photos on their Instagram. The team believes, “every Pudami Talli follower is a warrior and every warrior is responsible for our Mother Earth and all of us together should honor our environment.“
The journey of planting one crore saplings is surely a long one but they are already on the road. So far, they’ve planted around 200 saplings and constantly encourage students to plant a sapling on their birthdays. What a great way to celebrate, isn’t it? Their aim is not only to make the earth greener but also to make young students adopt a healthier and sustainable lifestyle. They try to educate young adults and children about the importance of environment so that they can develop eco-friendly habits from an early age. They believe if people make little change in their lifestyle and learn some small new habits, it can create a huge impact and we second that!

The story of Pudami Talli is a perfect example of what can happen when people decide to come together. Planting one crore saplings is not certainly a goal one thinks of achieving, but when they find even a small number of people who believe in the same values, no goal feels unachievable. And that is the power of “us!”
